MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to the American Red Cross, volunteers assisted a family whose Moncks Corner home, located on Hillcrest Drive, sustained fire damage on Thursday.
The Whitesville Fire Department responded to the blaze.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for food and clothing, as well as a comfort kit, containing personal hygiene items, and referrals to partner organizations to help with long-term recovery.
Last year, the Palmetto South Carolina Region assisted 7,118 individuals affected by disaster.
