GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to Goose Creek, this morning at approximately 10:45 a.m. officers were dispatched to 102 Belleplaine Drive in reference to a reported home invasion.

Once arriving on scene, officers stated that they met with a 19-year-old who had facial injuries consistent with a physical confrontation.

The teen reportedly told officers that he had been in the shower when he heard an unusual noise inside his home.

After getting out of the shower to investigate, the teen says he discovered an unknown clean-shaven white male rummaging through a dresser drawer.

The teen told police that he confronted the suspect and the two began to fight. During the physical altercation, the teen says he offered the suspect money to end the scuffle.  The resident then fled to a bedroom, locked the door, and called Goose Creek Police.  The subject then departed the residence.

Goose Creek Police say the teen was treated at the scene for his facial injuries and declined transport to a medical facility.  Investigators and crime scene personnel were notified and responded to canvass the area and process the scene for evidence.

Officers say the method of entry to the residence is under investigation.  The resident is taking inventory of the residence to determine what, if anything, was taken.

Investigators were notified that a small pickup truck with a loud muffler had been seen in the area just before the incident occurred.

They are asking anyone with information on this incident or the referenced pickup truck to contact Crime Stoppers at 554-1111 or the Goose Creek Police Department at 863-5200.
