In coordination with Joint Base Charleston and Health South, the event will allow the health systemโs frontline patient-contact staff to practice how to properly receive, isolate and implement proper infection control practices for potential Ebola patients, as well as how to properly put on and remove personal protective equipment.
โThe drill will serve three purposes,โ said Scott Cooper, emergency management and security coordinator. โIt will allow us to exercise and test the Ebola practices weโve put in place, activate our hospital command center and involve all four of our facilities including Trident, Summerville and Moncks Corner Medical Centers, and Centre Pointe Emergency.โ
All activities related to the drill will be held indoors.
