Goose Creek Mayor Proclaims It “Judo Week” In The City

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler signed a proclamation declaring April 19-25 “Judo Week” in Goose Creek.

The proclamation recognizes the Samurai Judo Association, the largest club in the United States Judo Association, led by USJA Coach of the Year and is headquartered in Goose Creek at the Naval Weapons Station.

Judo teaches many valuable character attributes such as self-discipline, patience, self-confidence, courtesy, humility, and physical fitness to Judo students of all ages.

The Mayor urges all residents to join him in recognizing and commending the level of physical and mental health that is achieved and maintained though the art of Judo.
