GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–For the last several days, the Goose Creek Police Department has worked endlessly to identify the driver who hit and killed Anthony Missouri, a pedestrian crossing the street over the weekend.
Thanks to a tip that police received on Monday, Captain John Grainger said investigators have now identified the driver of the vehicle that struck Missouri on St. James Avenue.
According to Grainger after hitting Missouri, the driver then fled the scene the evening of Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Authorities said that the driver of the vehicle has been identified as 25-year-old Joshua E. Brown of North Charleston.
Grainger stated that Brown has retained an attorney and plans to surrender to investigators today for service of an arrest warrant on the charge of ‘Hit and Run, Duties of Driver Involved in Accident With Death.’
Investigators said they expect to appear with Brown inside the Goose Creek Municipal Court at 1:30 p.m. today for a bond hearing.
