The Vietnam War Survivor’s And Remembrance Commemoration Scheduled Friday In Moncks Corner

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Vietnam War Survivor’s and Remembrance Commemoration will take place Friday, May 1st, 12:00 p.m. at 109 W. Main Street in Moncks Corner.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution have partnered with the Department of Defense to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

This ceremony is for both the living and the families of fallen heroes.

Vietnam veterans will be presented a small token of our appreciation and a long overdue and warm welcome home.

Mr. David Gethers, 91, will be honored at the ceremony.

He is a Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Names of Berkeley County Servicemen who died while serving will be read aloud and a member of each family will receive recognition.

The ceremony begins at noon, some come a little early and visit.

The Parris Island Living History Detachment, American Legion Post #166 Honor Guard, Berkeley High School JR AFROTC and Lowcountry Patriot Guard Riders will be a part of the service.
