BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley Co. Coroner Bill Salisbury, the body of 74-year-old John Green of St. Stephen was recovered Monday at 9:30 a.m. by the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and the Berkeley Co. Coroner’s Office.
Salisbury stated that Green was found floating near the St. Stephen Power House.
“We have been searching for Mr. Green everyday. I would like to thank everyone that participated in the search for 36 days,” stated Salisbury.
Green’s car was found on the Highway 52 bridge crossing the canal north of St. Stephen on March 30th.
Salisbury added that his death has been ruled a suicide with the cause of death as drowning.
