HANAHAN, S.C.–According to school officials, Hanahan High School was placed on administrative lockdown from approximately 3 p.m. to approximately 4:50 p.m. this afternoon.
Hanahan Police Department was called to investigate a suspicious person in the area.
Hanahan Police Chief Michael Cochran stated earlier that there was no known danger to the high school students–but merely the lockdown was done as a precautionary measure.
Murray Drive was temporarily shut down.
A district spokesperson says the suspicious person was eventually taken into custody.
Parents were reportedly notified of the lockdown.
