GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The City of Goose Creek Recreation Department is currently holding registration for youth football and cheerleading. Residents must show proof of residency with a driver’s license and current utility bill with current address.
Cheerleading registration runs through June 25 for ages 5-12. Registration can only be taken at the Community Center (519 N. Goose Creek Blvd.). Cheerleading will accept non-residents who live anywhere in the tri-county area. Registration fee is $30 per player for residents and $40 for non-residents. The cost for the cheer uniform is $80 and must be paid on fitting day which is scheduled for Thursday, June 25 or Tuesday, June 30, from 5:30-8:30 pm.
Football registration runs through June 30 for ages 6-12 for residents in the Goose Creek Recreation District and the City of Goose Creek. Residents must show proof of residency with a driver’s license and current utility bill with current address. Football registrations are only accepted at the Community Center.
The registration fee for football is $45 per player and includes a team jersey. Players must provide a helmet with NOCSAE seal, padded pants, shoulder pads, shoes, mouthpiece and athletic supporter at a total cost of approximately $150. Players in the Midget flag league (ages 6-8) do not need to purchase any equipment.
Practices will begin in August. Regular season play will begin in September and be concluded by late November.
