SUMMERVILLE, S.C.–According to Dorchester Co. deputies, Thomas Robert Shewtzuk of 117 Sawmill Court in Summerville surrendered to detectives this afternoon at 3 p.m.
He had been wanted by authorities for the last five days.
“He voluntarily walked into the office on Deming Way and surrendered without incident,” stated. Lt. Toney Phinney.
On the Saturday morning, deputies responded to the BP Quick Food Mart located at 2703 Highway 17-A South near Summerville for a possible shooting.
Once deputies and medics arrived on scene, they say they found Travis Gordon of Goose Creek dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to a Facebook message post earlier this week, the suspect and victim apparently dated the same girl.
The post was made by a girl who claims she dated both Gordon and Shewtzuk.
“We dated and loved each other for a (expletive) year,” she wrote in reference to Gordon.
She also talks about Shewtzuk and said taht she dated him for four months.
“Yes, I was in love with Thomas for a short period of time but it wasn’t REAL love. It was fake love. Me and Travis were real love,” posted the girl. “I loved Travis more than anything else in this world and I wish everyone would see that. He will always have a place in my heart.”
Shewtzuk has been charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear in bond court on Friday at 4 p.m.
