BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Nearly two months after being shot in the head, Lt. Will Rogers Rogers continues to recover from his injuries at a local hospital, authorities stated.
“He is again able to walk, talk and recognize family and friends,” stated Berkeley County Spokesperson Michael Mule. “The Rogers family says they thank the public for their support.”
This Saturday, a benefit will be held in Goose Creek in honor of Rogers. The event is being hosted by Coastal Carolina Families and Coastal Kenpo.
“Join us for an amazing day of fun, food, and games for the community!” wrote organizers on the Facebook event page.
‘The Goose Creek Summer Bash’ will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 10:00AM – 2:00PM at Creekside Center (205 North Goose Creek Boulevard in Goose Creek).
There will be a number of family-friendly activities including a Berkeley County K9 Unit demonstration, vendors, food and a silent auction.
