GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–H. Dale Royer from the National Child Safety Council recently presented Chief Harvey Becker an award for the department’s 15 years of continued participation in the organization’s ‘Safetypup’ program.
“We are grateful to the NCSC for providing the Safetypup materials we use regularly to educate children in a variety of safety concerns,” Becker stated.
Safetypup® has joined the ranks of many law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. Law officers have used various puppet versions of Safetypup for presentations to children in hundreds of schools.
The popular safety mascot first made his debut on February 12, 1985.
He currently appears in NCSC safety awareness/prevention education programs and 300+ materials for law enforcement officers and teachers.
