GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The City of Goose Creek Blood Drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14.
Donors will receive a free box of Girl Scout cookies.
The blood drive is open to the public, and will be held at the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, which will be at the Goose Creek Municipal Center on that day.
For more information or to make an appointment, contact Kelly Lovette at 797-6220 ext. 1113, or at [email protected]. Donors may also make an appointment by visiting www.redcrossblood.org and entering sponsor code CityofGooseCreek.
The need for donated blood has never been higher, and the Red Cross has announced a critical need for type AB blood.
In addition, the Red Cross encourages donors to consider a double red cell donation, an automated process that safely allows for the collection of two red cell units rather than one.
The process allows donors to make an even greater difference by giving two units of red cells. Donors with type O negative, O positive, A negative, or B negative blood are strongly encouraged to consider giving a double red cell donation.
