GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Is your child a fan of Minecraft, a budding Robotics expert, or a cartoon aficionado? The Goose Creek Recreation Center is offering three youth technology courses this fall that may be right up their alley.
“Adventures in Animation” will let participants create their own computer graphics, animations and games. The class will meet every Wednesday from Sept. 2 to Sept. 23 at the Casey Community Center; a session for ages 7 to 9 will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., and a 10-and-over session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The course is the first of three offered this fall; the times and age groups will remain the same for each.
The Wednesday sessions continue with “Rockin’ Robotics,” from Sept. 30 to Oct. 21. Students will learn the basics of electricity and electronics, and work in teams to build and control a robotic vehicle.
“Minecraft Mania” is the final four-week session, from Oct. 28 to Nov. 18. Participants will explore 2-D and 3-D modeling while learning computer programming in Minecraft’s creative mode.
All classes will be held at the Casey Community Center. Classes are $50 for Goose Creek residents and $55 for non-residents. For more information call 572-1321 or visit www.goosecreekrecreation.com.
