BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to BCSD Spokesperson Aimee Murray, this year’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaigned generated $6,600 in school supplies.
“On behalf of Berkeley County School District, we want to thank the students, parents, community and business partners who supported the Stuff the Bus campaign this year,” stated Murray. “We know it was challenging to squeeze this into your schedule amidst all of your summer plans and back to school preparations, but our efforts have paid off.”
More than 4,237 items were collected to help with student achievement in the classroom.
Murray added that the community’s collaborative stake in public education has ensured that the 32,288 students who attend its 42 District schools will have the tools they need to produce amazing work.
“Please follow our progress throughout the school year. Volunteers are still needed to read with children, provide career mentoring, offer hands on tutoring, and cheer our students to success at academic, athletic, and art related activities,” stated Murray.
If you would like to volunteer or learn more about our strategic priorities, please visit the school district’s website at www.berkeley.k12.sc.us or contact them at 843-899-8600.
