GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Registration is open for the Goose Creek Citizens Police Academy, which begins Sept. 22 and continues to Nov. 10.
The eight-week class will meet Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Citizens Police Academy consists of classroom presentations and hands-on experiences designed to educate residents on the operations of the police department.
Goose Creek residents who are at least 21 years old are encouraged to contact Kevin Scott at (843) 863-5200 ext. 2317 to apply.
A background check is conducted on all applicants, and acceptance will be on a first-come basis with class size limited to 25.
A lifelong Berkeley County resident, Nikki Gaskins Campbell is an Emmy-nominated journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering news. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in broadcast journalism.
