BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley High School will host its First Annual Food Truck Rodeo on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at the school (406 West Main Street, Moncks Corner) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Berkeley High’s Principal, Steven Steele, said, “We came up with the idea when we were brain storming about how to increase parent attendance at Open House. One of the big issues parents face is preparing or buying dinner for their families on those nights. We thought; why not offer dinner at the school to help fundraise for the Academic Booster Club? The event will help parents with dinner and teachers will not have to leave campus to get dinner. It’s a double win!”
The rodeo fundraiser will allow students, faculty and members of the Moncks Corner community to sample great food while attending Berkeley High School’s Open House and the Berkeley High School Academic Booster Club will receive a percentage of the profits to support the school.
Berkeley High School teachers, Katy Bates, Jacci Klein, Meredith Strmac and Stephanie Peagler spearheaded the First Annual Food Truck Rodeo. Bates said, “This is a great way to get parents involved in the school and to get the community at large involved with supporting activities at Berkeley High.”
The rodeo will feature the following food trucks: West Farms, EMS, Zombie Bob’s, Dashi and The Ice Cream Team. More trucks are confirming daily.
