Golf Course Grand Re-Opening Set For September 12th

reopening3GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The wait is almost over for golfers in Goose Creek and around the Lowcountry.

Four months of renovations are nearing an end at the Crowfield Golf Club’s 18-hole course, which will celebrate its grand reopening on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The course has undergone a host of improvements since May 11 of this year – nine holes at a time. Renovations to the front nine holes were made first, followed by the back nine. The improvements were staggered, so the course remained open to golfers throughout the summer.

Improvements include two permanent, separate restroom facilities at holes 5 and 14; 18 separate women’s tee boxes that will make Crowfield more female-friendly; 18 resurfaced greens; fairway improvements that include the removal of three sand bunkers; the repaving of several cart paths; and the repair and repaving of the land bridge on hole 17.

reopening2 “Our vision here at Crowfield has always been to be one of the best, consistently maintained golf courses in the area at a good value,” Crowfield Golf Director Troy Sanders said. “These course improvements will help us reach that goal.”

Anticipation has grown in recent weeks as renovations near an end.

“The members are really excited,” Crowfield Golf Club Pro Bobby Donnellan said. “They are definitely ready to get all 18 holes open. We’re getting a lot of phone calls asking, ‘When are you reopening?’ The excitement is there.”

Donnellan said this fall is the perfect time to come try the course out – especially for area golfers who have not played at Crowfield.
