GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–A nine-week running program offered by Goose Creek Recreation is designed to move participants off of the couch, with a goal of participating in a 5K race in December.
The program is for walkers or beginner runners. Speed or ability does not matter, only a desire to improve each week.
The program includes expert training, group runs, accountability, weight loss, individual training plans, and an overall commitment to health and fitness.
Participants will be encouraged to register for the 5K Reindeer Run on Saturday, Dec. 5.
The “Couch to 5K” running program begins Oct. 1 and will continue until Dec. 3.
The class meets Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Goose Creek Community Center. Cost is $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents.
The program will be led by certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor Tracy Barthold. For more information visit www.goosecreekrecreation.com, or call (843) 569-4242, ext. 5291.
