BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, a string of motor vehicle break-ins and burglaries in the areas of Pinopolis and Moncks Corner has resulted in the arrests of five adults and a 16-year-old juvenile.
During the evening hours of September 12th through the early morning hours of September 15th, six motor vehicle break-ins and two burglaries were reported to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, authorities stated.
Deputies say five suspects, all from the Moncks Corner area, have been arrested: Donoven J. Hamilton, 18; Thadeous T. Rawls, 18; Tiger R. Singletary, 17; Austin R. Driggers, 17; Devin L. Stacy, 17, and a 16 year old male juvenile.
Rawls, Hamilton and Driggers face charges of Burglary Third Degree. Driggers and Stacy face charges of Burglary First Degree. Rawls, Singletary and the 16-year-old juvenile face charges of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle.
When arrested, deputies say all of the suspects were in possession of stolen property, and all of the suspects are believe to be connected.
Deputies say the motive for the string of burglaries and break-ins isn’t clear at this time.
Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis stated that additional arrests are forthcoming and that the investigation has been a joint effort with the Moncks Corner Police Department, who had similar incidents in their jurisdiction.
