MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–It’s been a little more than a year since Marc Hehn left his job as town administrator to join the town’s former mayor, Bill Peagler, and his new administration over at the county level.
Last year, after beating out long-time supervisor Dan Davis, Peagler was elected to the position. Hehn’s last day with the town was January 2, 2015. So far, he has yet to be replaced.
Roland H Windham, a former Charleston County administrator, has presently been serving as the town’s interim administrator for a little more than a year now.
Just days into the New Year, Moncks Corner town leaders have begun actively looking for Hehn’s replacement. This week they announced via social media that they are currently seeking resumes from qualified professionals with proven administrative ability and at least five years municipal management experience for the town administrator
position.
“An administrator is desired that has had experience in population growth demands for municipal services,” the job description also reads.
Moncks Corner operates under the strong mayor form of government giving him or her authority for all operations of the Town in day-to-day operations. The new administrator will carry out all day-to-day functions as prescribed by the mayor.
This includes but is not limited to, budget preparation, economic development, procurement, personnel and oversight of town departments and functions.
The town presently operates on a $6.8 million budget and has more than 102 town employees.
Applicants interested in the town administrator position have until February 12th to apply. To view additional details about the job posting, click here.
