MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to Moncks Corner Police Chief Rick Ollic, on Friday morning his officers responded to 605 North Highway 52 (The Pantry BP Station) in reference to an armed robbery.
Ollic says a suspect robbed the store clerk while armed with a rifle. Approximately $100 was taken, he says.
Through information, investigation and forensic evidence from the scene, Ollic says officers arrested the accused robber later that same day.
Deion Malik Watson of 651 Club Lane in Moncks Corner has been charged with armed robbery.
He is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center and will go before a bond hearing on 02/06/16 at 6:30 pm.
The South Carolina Department of Probation and Parole and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Moncks Corner Police Department.
According to records, Watson faced two counts of strong armed robbery in Charleston County back on February 12, 2015.
Four months later, Berkeley County deputies arrested him for failure to pay child support.
