GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to Major John Grainger with the Goose Creek Police Department, investigators have identified the suspect responsible for the January 24, 2015, armed robbery of the Kangaroo convenience store located at 215 Redbank Rd.
Grainger says after distribution of surveillance images to the local media, a tip was received leading to the identification of Robert Olando Jones of Summerville as the suspect.
Police say Jones was located and arrested by officers with the Summerville Police Department Monday and turned over to GCPD investigators.
Jones will be charged with Armed Robbery w/Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping, and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
He was transported to the Berkeley County Detention Center pending service of warrants and bond proceedings.
Grainger says that Jones is a suspect in a similar robbery under investigation currently by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
