BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Traffic came to a standstill for several hours after a motorcycle and car collided shortly before 3 p.m. at the foot of the Tail Race Canal Bridge on Sunday.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, after the accident the vehicle involved left the scene.
A woman was reportedly driving the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
Troopers and Berkeley County deputies have been working the scene now for several hours.
All four lanes of traffic to Highway 52 were shut down for quite some time initially creating bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The motorist, who’s condition is unknown, was transported to a nearby hospital.
