Police: Man Found Dead After Attacking Mother and Brother with Knife on Daniel Island

knife DANIEL ISLAND, S.C.–Detectives are conducting a death investigation on River Landing Drive after Charleston police say a man was found dead in his mother’s apartment.

Police responded to the scene about 3:48 p.m. Sunday in reference to a domestic violence call, Charleston Police Spokesperson Charles Francis stated.

After officers arrived on scene, they say they learned that a man had attacked his mother and his brother with a knife and barricaded himself inside of his mother’s apartment.

Officers entered the apartment and found the man dead in a bedroom.

“This is not a homicide. The coroner will determine the cause of death,” stated Francis

The man’s mother and brother were treated at East Cooper Medical Center for their injuries and released.

The investigation is ongoing, Francis added.

Daniel Island lies within Berkeley County.
