GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–On April 5th, Goose Creek voters will head to the polls to vote for the city council race. Five candidates are on the ballot but only three will be elected.

Over the next few weeks, The Berkeley Observer will be introducing you to them. Kevin Condon, a political newcomer, is next on the list.

Below, we recently asked Condon the following questions:

1. Why are you seeking election?
My wife and I chose Goose Creek to live and raise our family. I want to work hard to continue making it a great place to live and raise a family so others will choose it too.

2. What is your educational background?
I graduated from James Island High School and I have a BS in Business Administration from Limestone College.

3. What is your current profession?
I am in operations and logistics at Republic Services in North Charleston.

4. Family?
I have been married to Jennifer Bates Condon, a teacher at Stratford High School, for 17 years. We have three daughters, Spencer (13), Rori Mae (11), and Keelan (2). My mother and father-in-law also live here in Goose Creek.

5. What changes would you like to bring to Goose Creek?
We have to find a solution that will allow businesses and residential development to continue to come to Goose Creek without out growing our ability to provide them with the services we have come to enjoy and expect. We also need to find a way to make Goose Creek more business friendly, but not at the expense of taxing our residents to do it.

6. Why should voters vote for you over the other candidates?
I have been serving in Goose Creek either in volunteer or appointed positions for over 15 years. No other candidate can say that. I felt the time was right to step up and try to service this city in a greater capacity.

7. Anything else worth mentioning?
With so much change on the horizon for our city, we need solid leadership on council, and I feel I am qualified to provide that leadership.
