GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–On April 5th, Goose Creek voters will head to the polls to vote for the city council race. Five candidates are on the ballot but only three will be elected.
Over the next few weeks, The Berkeley Observer will be introducing you to them. Darrell Williams is next on the list.

Below, we recently asked Williams the following questions:
1. Why are you seeking election?
I have enjoyed serving on the Goose Creek Planning Commission for several years and would like to continue to serve the community at the next level. I’m running for office because I believe that it is important to serve the community where one lives. I take seriously the responsibility of being a dedicated public servant.
2. What is your educational background?
Attended Thomas Edison State College and Touro University. Earned Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Masters in Business Administration.
3. What is your current profession?
Military veteran who currently works in the contracts and procurement profession.
4. Family?
Wife Gloria and two children. Daughter currently serves in the US Navy.
5. What changes would you like to bring to Goose Creek?
Goose Creek is already a good place to live, work and raise a family. I want to be part of the local leadership that is accessible and works to ensure that sustainable development meets the needs of the present economic development without compromising our quality of life, green space, and our future.
6. Why should voters vote for you over the other candidates?
I am running to keep Goose Creek a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I believe that transparency, communication, and service are key pillars to supporting the citizens of Goose Creek. I want to ensure the people who are responsible for public, safety and security, to include those who provide services, and respond to emerging threats, have the tools they need to keep all citizens safe.

I will be a dedicated public servant committed to service, transparency, communication and building an even better Goose Creek.
