Coroner: Driver Killed After Striking Several Trees on I-26W

ambulance BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, on Wednesday at 12:35 a.m. 33-year-old Randy Snell, of Summerville, was driving west on I-26 near mile marker 200 when his sedan ran off the right side of the  roadway, down an embankment, and struck several trees.

Salisbury stated that he was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by the fire department.

He was wearing a seatbelt, the coroner stated.

Snell was pronounced dead on the scene.

His death was ruled accidental and was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

This is the 10th traffic fatality in Berkeley County this year.
