Berkeley County Coroner: Elderly Woman Drowns After Falling From Jet Ski on Lake Moultrie

ambulance BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, on Tuesday at 7 p.m., Doris Nobles, 73, of Conway was a passenger on a jet ski when she managed to fall off and drown.

Salisbury said the jet ski was traveling at an idle speed, and she was wearing a life jacket.

This accident happened on Lake Moultrie near Short Stay.

The coroner said Nobles ingested water and was transported to shore.

Berkeley County EMS transported her to a local emergency room where she was pronounced dead.

Coroner Salisbury has ruled her death as accidental drowning.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources investigated the accident.
