BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–On Friday, authorities say the school resource deputy at Cane Bay Middle School investigated a complaint from students at the school that another student had pulled a firearm on them during an incident after school.
Deputies say the incident happened when some students appeared to be wanting to fight. One of the students, a 13 year old male, pulled a loaded firearm out of his book bag and pointed at another student.
After the others present saw that the pistol was real, they fled on foot and alerted authorities. Thankfully, nobody was injured or harmed during the incident.
The School Resource Deputy investigated the case and found that the male subject had carried the pistol to school in his book bag. The pistol belonged to his stepfather.
According to officers, the juvenile was charged with possession of a weapon on school property, pointing and presenting a firearm, unlawful carrying of a firearm and assault & battery of a high and aggravated nature.
