BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Almost two years after she disappeared, a skull found on Nov. 27, 2015 has been identified as Nicole Goodlett of Spartanburg, S.C.
Goodlett, 28, was reported missing on March 12, 2014 in Spartanburg County. According to an incident report she was last seen in Simpsonville in Greenville County over the Christmas holiday by her brother.
Investigators have named Goodlett’s boyfriend, Jerald Howard, a person of interest. Howard is originally from Huger. Deputies have been trying to track down his whereabouts. The two were reportedly living together before she disappeared.
According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, her skull was examined by a forensic anthropologist and she was identified by DNA samples.
“With the information I have now, the manner and cause of death will be classified as undetermined. No trauma was noted to the skull,” stated Salisbury.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting in the investigation.
Crews will be in the area near Cainhoy Elementary School Wednesday searching for more evidence.
