BONNEAU, S.C.– One day after 18-year-old Katelyn Moore was laid to rest, friends and family gathered for a candlelight vigil Tuesday night on Black Oak Road.
A cross along with flowers have been placed at the location of the deadly accident that took the life of the Timberland High School senior.
She would have officially graduated on May 26th, 2015.
Friends say she had hoped to go off to college and eventually become a neonatal nurse.
Last week, Moore lost her life in a head on collision on Black Tom Road in Bonneau just 21 days before her high school graduation.
After the crash, the teen was extricated from the car, and taken to a local hospital where she was eventually pronounced dead, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury stated.
During the candlelight vigil, firefighters slowed down traffic to give Moore’s loved ones some time to show their respects at the crash site.
Moore was laid to rest at Pioneer Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Cordesville on Monday.
