Intersections within the project limits will be evaluated and improved if warranted.
Along with the clearing that’s underway, the silt fence installation has also begun.
Weather permitting, both of these actions are expected to be completed by July 1st.
The patching, milling, and initial paving operations is expected to being on July 10th and conclude on August 6th.
Weather permitting, additional moving items for the advance clearing is expected to be complete on September 30th.
Approximately 99% of right-of-way acquisition for Phase 1 of the project is complete. The critical path for this project is the utility relocation and the securing of utility agreements, county leaders stated.

The improvements involve widening the two-lane roadway to a four-lane curb and gutter section, with a raised planted median and multi-use path along one side of the roadway.
The entire project is expected to cost more than $29 million and be completed by 2021, according to SCDOT.
