GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek residents of Boulder Bluff and the surrounding area are invited to attend a community meeting on the future of the 48-acre public park across the street from Boulder Bluff Elementary School.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 in the Goose Creek Police Department Training Room, at the Municipal Center.
The meeting is the second public session regarding the park; on Feb. 18 dozens of residents met to share ideas on the park’s future. The July 7 meeting will review the conceptual plans formed from those ideas. Representatives from LandPlan Group South professional planning will be on hand to present their plans.
The meeting is the next step in the City’s renovation and redevelopment of the property, which is bordered by Amy Drive, Judy Drive and Anita Drive, and includes the existing Dennis Park.
Goose Creek recently acquired 21 of the property’s 48 acres from the Berkeley County School District. The mutually beneficial project between the City and school district calls for a redevelopment of the property within five years. A master plan for the park must be approved by the BCSD.
