BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Senfronia Smith has been named the new principal of Cross High School located in Cross, South Carolina.
The Berkeley County School Board approved the appointment at their Board Workshop on Tuesday, July 12. Ms. Smith will begin her new assignment immediately to prepare for the upcoming school year.
“I am excited about and looking forward to developing significant relationships with the Cross community as we work together to ensure the success of every student at Cross High School,” said Ms. Smith. “Cross High School’s rich history, limitless potential and deep community relationships were key in my decision to make Cross High and Berkeley county my next home.”
Ms. Smith has devoted her career to education for the last 16 years. She began her career as an earth and physical science teacher in the Beaufort County School District in 2000.
Smith then served as a high school assistant principal for 4 years. For the last 2 years, Ms. Smith has been the principal at St. Helena Elementary School in Beaufort County, South Carolina.
