
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–On August 5th, 2016, Northwood Academy celebrated the grand opening of its ‘Upper School Campus’ for grades 6th through 12th.
Construction on the ‘Lower School,’ grades K to 5, began in early 2016. The project is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2017-18 school year, school officials stated.
“Northwood Academy now enters “The Next 40” -year phase of our history, geographically located and uniquely positioned to prepare students intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually,” reads the school’s website.
Immediately following both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services at Northwood Church on August 14th, there will be an open house to give people a tour of the brand new Upper School campus.
Northwood Academy offers a Christian-based education in a fun learning environment.
Formally called Northwood Christian School, the school was re-named “Northwood Academy” in 2000 and has become one of the largest K – 12 schools in the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA). The school has been accredited since 2002 by SCISA and in 2013 by AdvancED.
