Multiple People Charged Following Fugitive’s Arrest, Meth Found In House

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, four people are behind bars for various charges including meth.

On Monday, deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force received information that a wanted fugitive, David Earl Evans, was at 103 Tennyson Way in Summerville. Evans was being sought for 11 bench warrants for general sessions related charges.

Officers stated that they were able to confirm the information and went to the house. Upon knocking on the door, the door opened. A male subject then pushed the door closed on officers. Officers knocked and announced their presence. A male subject then reopened the door. He was identified as Sam Ferguson Jr. He denied knowing who else was in the residence.

A check of Ferguson revealed he was wanted on drug charges from Summerville Police Department. Ferguson was also in possession of Methamphetamine, authorities stated.

Officers said that they called into the residence and eventually went inside. Ten people were located inside the residence, some exited on their own and others were located hiding in the residence.

With everyone out of the residence, the Berkeley County Narcotics Division was notified. A search warrant was obtained due to the presence of drug paraphernalia and drugs being located on one of the subjects.

When the search warrant was executed, a Taurus 9mm was located in the bedroom where Evans had emerged. There was approximately 10 grams of Crystal methamphetamine located. Allen Craig Davis, who was located hiding behind a water heater, claimed ownership of the Methamphetamines.

A female, Richley Myers Campbell, began yelling, cursing and threatening to burn down residences, deputies stated. She was arrested and placed in a patrol unit.

Evans was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Evans was also served with his outstanding bench warrants for: Failure to Stop for Blue Lights 2nd offense, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted violent Felon x 2, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Resisting/Assault on Police while Resisting Arrest.
