BCSO: Teen Facing Charges After Throwing Chair, Punching Fellow GHS Student

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, a male studentย will face charges for beating up a fellow student Wednesday insideย Goose Creek High School.

While on duty,ย a deputy says he witnessed theย fight break out inside the cafeteria.

The officer says heย saw the older student hold the face of another male student down on the ground before fleeing the school.ย No other students were around, he said.

The officerย rushed to help the injured student up and walked him to the nurses office, a report reads. He was then transported to the hospital by EMS. The fight reportedly left the victim with a concussion and swollen face.

Authorities say they eventually reviewed the school’s security cameras and saw where the older teen punched the younger student several times and throwย a chair at him.

The motive for the fight is unknown.

The student was suspended pending an expulsion hearing, deputies say.

Deputies also say the teenย is being charged with disturbing school as well as assault and battery in the 3rd degree.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
