BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Library System and hoopla digital have joined forces to offer a free Netflix-like service to library card-holders.

This gives them free online and mobile access to more than 500,000 movies, music, eBooks and more.

Library card-holders have free 24/7 online and mobile access to thousands of titles and can instantly experience, explore, and enjoy on-demand content via their smartphones, tablets, PCs, Apple TV and Chromecast.

The service features content from major Hollywood studios, publishers, and record companies such as Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling, the 80’s classic Pee-wee’s Playhouse, comics from Disney and DC, Bastille’s new album Wild World, and many others

The Berkeley County Library System is the 11th library system in South Carolina to partner with hoopla digital.

The company provides public libraries of all sizes the ability to offer patrons an enormous selection of digital video (movies and TV shows), music, audiobooks, ebooks and comics to their patrons.

“We’ve pioneered a unique model that allows patrons to borrow content immediately, removing artificial availability constraints and maximizing the power of digital content and Internet distribution,” the company’s website reads.
