BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A familiar name in Berkeley County is hoping to once again get involved in Lowcountry schools.
Gary Leonard is currently running as a candidate for the Charleston County School Board.
There are five seats up for grabs. He’s one of four people contending for one of two West Ashley seats.
The Charleston Metro Chamber Political Action Committee and Charleston Trident Association of Realtors recently endorsed his candidacy.
From 1988 to 2000, Leonard worked for the Berkeley County School District.
He eventually retired from BCSD as deputy superintendent.
