Friends, Family Prepare To Say Final Goodbye To Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Worsham

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Friends and family will soon say a final farewell to a beloved local firefighter who passed away after suffering a medical event at his home within 12 hours of responding to his last call.

Jeff Worsham, 45,  passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10th at Trident Hospital surrounded by loved ones.

The dedicated family man and longtime first responder was the Assistant Chief of Pimlico Fire Department, and the Fire Marshal at Whitesville Fire Department.

Following Worsham’s passing, around 50 members showed up at the hospital to escort him to the funeral home under an escort of red lights.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Northwood Baptist Church, 2200 Greenridge Road at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Worsham was a member of the Berkeley County Chiefs’ Association and National Fire Protection Association.

Flags at the Berkeley County Administration Building will remain at half staff for the rest of the week in Worsham’s memory.

He is survived by his wife, Brenna Lynne Worsham; son, Dalton James Worsham; two stepdaughters, Sarah Paige Smith, Gabrielle Nicole Smith; and stepson, Michael Layne Smith all of Moncks Corner, SC.
