STEPHEN, S.C.—The family of 76-year-old Julie Giggleman are grieving all over again. Three days after her death, Berkeley County deputies say a suspicious fire destroyed her home Saturday evening.
According to an affidavit, during the early evening hours of December 10th, 2016, Berkeley County deputies were dispatched to a home on Homestead Road in St. Stephen in reference to a suspicious fire.
After arriving on scene, deputies say they noticed that approximately 90 percent of the house bad been destroyed by the fire.
Deputies say a neighbor provided information that he heard a loud boom and observed two individuals drive away at a high rate of speed.
Very shortly after their departure, the house was engulfed in flames, according to the neighbor.
