BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–On Wednesday, the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office released a list of deaths reported and worked in Berkeley County over the last six years.
According to Coroner Bill Salisbury, 12 deaths from 2016 are still pending an autopsy.
The report shows that the coroner’s office responded to 989 deaths in Berkeley County last year–an increase of 56 from the previous year.
The majority of the deaths reported, 785, were from natural causes, according to Salisbury.
Suicides, drownings and homicides nearly doubled from 2011 to 2016.
The report shows that accidental deaths nearly quadrupled over the last six years. More detailed information is listed below.
