GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–If you’ve traveled along St. James Avenue lately, you may have noticed a lot of construction taking place next to Zaxbys.
According to Goose Creek Administrator Jake Broom, a popular grocery chain in Europe plans to open up shop in the coming months.
“It’s actually going to be Lidl (pronounced LEEdill), a German grocery store with over 10,000 locations in Europe,” stated Broom. “We are going to be one of their first 100 locations in the United States!”
For over 40 years, Lidl has been a growing presence in the European grocery marketplace.
“Through 10,000 stores in 27 countries, we’ve precisely designed every part of our process to deliver the highest quality products at the lowest possible price and the most efficient shopping experience possible,” reads the company’s website. “Now, we’re bringing our unique vision for grocery to the US.”
