BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Two men are behind bars following the discovery of nearly a 1,000 grams of methamphetamine stemming from a traffic stop along I-26, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. the street value of the seized drug comes to $95,300.
Chief Deputy Mike Cochran stated that the street value of the seized drug is approximately $95,300.
On March 7th at approximately. 7:08 p.m. a Berkeley County K9 deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing the driver of a car commit a traffic violation. While the deputy was speaking with the driver, he stated that he noticed an open alcoholic beverage in the center console.
“Upon having the driver and passenger exit the vehicle, additional contraband was in plain view. A probable cause search of the vehicle was then conducted and the first item located was a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine in the front, passenger floor area,” stated Cochran.
After locating the pipe, deputies say they then found a make-up bag with three, large bundled packages containing a clear, crystal-like substance was located. All three bundles were packaged in freezer bags and wrapped in plastic wrap.
BCSO officials say the substance in the bags field-tested presumptive for methamphetamine. The total weight of methamphetamine seized was 953 gross grams.
Arrested and charged with Drugs / Trafficking in meth. or cocaine base were Dwayne Breeden Morrison, 60, of Meadowcreek Court, Dunwoody, GA and 34-year-old Sean Albert Taylor who is listed as homeless.
