
MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed while crossing the street over the weekend.
On Saturday around 8 p.m., Alfonso Carlos Cruz-Rivera, 35, of Moncks Corner, was crossing South Live Oak Drive near Moncks Corner when he was struck by two vehicles.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
“The victim was wearing dark clothing and the driver did not see him walk in the lane of traffic,” stated Coroner Bill Salisbury.
His death has been ruled accidental.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.
