GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–DNA has confirmed that the burned body found in a barrel last month on Madeline Drive belongs to 68-year-old Michael Mullikin. His remains were found in his own backyard by police. Mullikin was previously listed as missing.
According to Major John Grainger with the Goose Creek Police Department, investigators have scheduled a meeting with representatives of the Berkeley County Solicitor’s Office to discuss the case progress and the potential issuance of murder charge(s).
“GCPD investigators remain focused on following leads and conducting interviews to solidify any charges that are brought forward,” stated Grainger. “The investigation is ongoing by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Goose Creek Police Department.”
Mullikin’s roommate, Shannon Maurice Smith, Jr. was recently charged with larceny. Police say he stole Mullikin’s car. The vehicle was recently located by St. Peters Police Department officers in St. Peters, Missouri. [READ FULL STORY HERE]
