BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A Sunday shooting has left one person dead and injured another, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
The shooting happened at 4:20 p.m. on Garden Court off of Highway 27 in Ridgeville.
One person was transported to Summerville Medical Center by people that were at the incident location while the other individual was transported by ambulance to Trident Hospital in North Charleston, according to Chief Deputy Mike Cochran with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
Cochran stated that the person who was transported to Trident Medical center succumbed to his wounds. The status of the other subject is unknown at this time.
“This is still a very fluid situation and detectives are working to determine what happened and who was involved,” stated Cochran. “We do not know the number of shooters, types of weapons or any particulars just yet. Once more details are known, they will be released. ”
