GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–A woman is behind bars following a fatal stabbing at an apartment complex in Goose Creek on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:15 p.m., GCPD officers were dispatched to 100 Hallmark Dr., Apartment 110-A, in the Hallmark Apartments community in reference to a possible stabbing.
Officers say that when they arrived on scene, they discovered a male subject inside an apartment suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.
EMS was called and transported the male subject to Trident Medical Center for treatment.
The male subject has since succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed.
According to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury, the victim has been identified as 53-year-old Chicoba Crabtree. He was pronounced dead at 2:43 p.m.
A female subject on-scene was taken into custody and also transported for medical evaluation.
:The identity of the female subject is part of the investigation and will be released once verified,” stated Major John Grainger with GCPD. “The early indications suggest that this is an isolated incident between the male and female subjects and that the community at-large is not in danger.”
