CHATS Approves Additional Funding For Clements Ferry Road Project

The first phase includes widening approximately 3.6 miles of Clements Ferry Road from I-526 to Jack Primus Road.

MONCKS CORNER, SC – Berkeley County Supervisor Bill Peagler announced this morning that the Charleston Area Transportation Study Policy Committee approved an additional $9 Million for the Clements Ferry Road Phase 1 widening project.

This project is currently under construction from I-526 to Jack Primus Road by Banks Construction Company, with a contract completion date of late 2019.  The Phase 1 Project is estimated to cost $44.2 Million.

The Phase 2 widening project from Jack Primus Road to SC 41 is currently under design and planned to begin construction when the Phase I project is complete.
